In 2018, Harley-Davidson commemorated its 115th anniversary with festivities across Milwaukee and beyond. Among the highlights was the unveiling of an anniversary edition Fat Boy, featuring distinctive touches like satin chrome finishes and hand-applied serial numbers. Painted in Legend Blue Denim, this limited edition bike numbered just 900 globally, with a mere 150 reaching Europe. While many anticipated owners would preserve these rare bikes in stock condition, one individual defied convention by commissioning a transformation at German custom garage Thunderbike, resulting in the creation of the "Fat Back."
Part of Thunderbike's renowned series, which includes models like the Road Force and Red Force, the Fat Back underwent extensive customization, with over 30 modifications totaling at least 20,000 euros. Key enhancements include a single-sided swingarm, Screamin’ Eagle Stage IV engine kit pushing power to 130 hp, hydraulic clutch conversion, air suspension, and custom exhaust. Sporting larger 23-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels under custom fenders, the Fat Back boasts a commanding presence, accentuated by its robust handlebar.
Finished in a bespoke blue reminiscent of the anniversary Fat Boy's hue, the paintwork was expertly executed by Ingo Kruse, reflecting Thunderbike's hallmark craftsmanship.
